, Information Technology Division, is looking to hire four (4) Data Processing Systems Analyst (DPSA) I

to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of electronic data processing systems and procedures for various activities within the department. Under the direction of higher level systems analysts, you will learn to independently analyze and evaluate operating methods and practices relative to the needs of specific programs and activities and performs other related duties.

What You'll Do

Assists in gathering and analyzing departmental processes to be used in the planning and development of computer applications. Assists with designing, writing and testing computer applications in whole or in parts. Assists in reviewing, selecting, purchasing, installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting software, computer hardware, and networks for major systems and other projects. Assists with maintaining departmental computer systems. Receive training and progressively difficult assignment to move up in the DPSA career ladder.

The expectation for any DPSA I in this department is to learn and progress upward to higher levels. Opportunity to progress up the career ladder and/or qualify for other higher level positions will depend on

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in Computer Science, Public or Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics or a related field. Substitution : Work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a Bachelor’s degree. For example:

1. Four (4) years of professional work experience, in any occupation, may substitute for a general bachelor's degree.

2. Four (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in

computer science, information technology, management information systems (MIS), or similar area

may substitute for a general bachelor's degree. The education requirement must be met at the time of application.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, proper documentation, e.g., a foreign credential evaluation (FCE), must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript. Verification Requirement

: One (1) year of experience in the analysis of operating practices, methods, and procedures, some of which shall have involved the conduct of feasibility studies and the analysis and design of systems for the electronic processing of data. Substitution

: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS from an accredited four year college or university may be substituted for six months of experience in the analysis of operating practices, methods, and procedures.

A Master's degree in Computer Science or MIS from an accredited four year college or university may be substituted for one year of experience in the analysis of operating practices, methods, and procedures.
