WACH has an immediate opening for an
Executive Producer
to oversee news content for fairness, balance, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will produce daily newscasts and oversee the production of newscasts and special programming. You will work closely with producers and reporters on daily selection and coverage. As a newsroom leader, the Executive Producer is expected to lead by example.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee daily newscasts to serve local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect, and empower audiences.
Supervise producers and reporters, review scripts, and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling.
Manage newsroom and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow audiences.
Collaborate with News Directors and station managers to create special segments.
Plan and oversee continuity into upcoming newscasts.
Skills required for success:
Proven track record of creating compelling stories across multiple platforms.
Ability to perform well under pressure, manage breaking news, and meet strict deadlines.
Problem-solving skills and solution-oriented mindset.
Strong commitment to journalistic standards and ethics.
Excellent people skills, including coaching and motivation.
Understanding of how to drive digital traffic.
Minimum of 2 years of experience producing in a television news environment or equivalent.
College degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred.
Strong writing skills with a proven track record of results.
