Software Engineering Manager

Job DescriptionJob Description Lead a team of software engineers in the development, maintenance, and modernization of web applications using the latest .NET technologies. Oversee the migration and support of legacy .NET Framework 4.8 solutions, ensuring smooth transitions and long-term maintainability. Guide the team in writing performant, secure SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and schema designs to support application requirements. Architect and review RESTful APIs for internal and external integration, promoting clean and scalable service-oriented design. Mentor team members in front-end development practices using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery, while promoting adoption of modern frameworks such as React when applicable. Drive discussions around UI/UX design and ensure application interfaces are intuitive, responsive, and consistent with user needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into reliable, maintainable software solutions. Champion best practices in code quality, testing, DevOps, and software design through code reviews and technical leadership. Provide occasional support for legacy desktop applications written in C# and VB.NET. 5+ years of hands-on software development leadership experience with a focus on .NET technologies (C#, .NET 6+); production experience in .NET 8 or .NET 9 . Proven experience in leading engineering teams or mentoring developers in a senior/lead role. Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and relational database architecture. Familiarity with legacy .NET Framework applications and strategies for modernization and cloud migration. Strong front-end skills with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with jQuery and exposure to modern frameworks like React is a plus. Solid understanding of REST API design principles and secure web service development. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and technical roles. Passion for continuous improvement, clean architecture, and building high-performing engineering teams.
