Description : Position Summary : The Executive Director is responsible for managing the Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care community, and/or Skilled Nursing Facility. They ensure high-quality resident care services within budgetary guidelines while meeting or exceeding Harbor Retirement Associates, LLC standards, and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and HRA policies, procedures, and regulations. The Executive Director leads the community by example, exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadership. Essential Functions : Internal Community Relations : Develops and implements community resident relations programs; solicits feedback from residents, families, and others to maintain and/or improve community hospitality and services. Establishes effective relationships with other community department heads to ensure high-quality resident care and inter-departmental cooperation. Oversees and monitors nursing services (if applicable) to ensure high-quality nursing delivery systems. Monitors resident care daily; conducts rounds; implements quality assurance programs for all departments. Establishes positive rapport with regulatory agencies; stays updated on changes in federal, state, and local regulations. Oversees facility management of the community. Directs community safety and loss prevention programs; monitors adherence to safety rules and regulations, taking remedial action when necessary. Contacts residents’ families when service changes are needed; leads and participates in resident/family conferences to review changes. Ensures high customer satisfaction. Assists in developing the residence’s budget. Makes final decisions on resident move-ins and move-outs based on resident well-being and residence policies. Financial : Plans and develops operating budgets within HRA guidelines. Monitors department performance and analyzes community P&L; takes corrective actions when necessary. Prepares for and attends monthly P&L teleconferences. Trains community management in cost control techniques. Manages community inventory control systems and oversees contracted services. Marketing : Maintains a high level of occupancy. Associate Relations : Oversees recruitment, selection, retention, and termination of community associates. Ensures effective orientation and training for staff. Supervises and evaluates managers, providing coaching and feedback. Ensures staff meet standards of appearance, sanitation, and health. Establishes positive employee relations and recognition programs. Manages community compensation, recommending wage adjustments as needed. Protects resident confidentiality at all times. Provides an open-door policy for staff concerns and grievances. Handles on-the-job injuries appropriately. Leads marketing efforts, including developing relations with referral sources. Represents the residence to the community, families, and visitors, fostering positive relations. Works safely and promotes safety for residents and staff. Discloses any medications that might impair job performance. Non-Essential Functions : Encourages teamwork and promotes company philosophy. Participates in Life Enrichment activities when possible. Performs duties reliably and punctually. Familiarizes with reporting missing persons via Safe Return or similar programs. Understands fire evacuation procedures. Maintains a safe and secure environment for residents. Requirements : Qualifications / Skills / Educational Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree. Current ECC and/or CORE Training certification as required; or Community Residential Care Facility Administration (CRCF). Strong leadership skills with at least two (2) years’ supervisory and management experience. One to two years of relevant experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook; mid-level typing skills. Effective communication skills with all management levels, staff, residents, families, and external contacts. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and manage budgets. Knowledge of current federal and state laws related to IL, AL, MC, SNF communities. Ability to make independent decisions. Passion for working with and around senior citizens.
