Assistant Director, Residential and Housing Operations

Description Shape the student experience at one of the world’s premier music and performing arts institutions. Berklee is hiring an Assistant Director of Residential and Housing Operations to help lead housing logistics, support student transitions, and ensure a smooth, inclusive residential experience. This full-time, on-campus role blends operations, student support, and system management in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. What You’ll Do : Manage housing assignments and room selection for new, returning, and summer students Coordinate residence hall openings, closings, key distribution, and transitional housing Supervise student staff at front desks and ensure high-quality service for students and families Serve as lead administrator for StarRez housing software and maintain housing data accuracy Support students with off-campus housing resources, roommate events, and 1:1 guidance Respond to housing inquiries with care, clarity, and collaboration Generate occupancy and billing reports; liaise with Student Accounts and campus partners Represent Housing on campus committees and step in as acting Associate Director when needed Who You Are : A student-centered professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills Experienced in housing operations, student affairs, or residential life Tech-savvy, especially with systems like StarRez or similar platforms Skilled at balancing process efficiency with personalized student support A collaborative, inclusive leader who thrives in a creative, high-energy environment Why Berklee : At Berklee, creativity, community, and innovation are at the heart of everything we do.
