Location: South Boston, VA | Work Shift: First (Days) | Employment Type: Full-time Overview: The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) provides healthcare services to individuals, families, and groups under the Sentara Medical Group. Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, prescribing treatments, performing occupational medicine exams, and procedures in a walk-in Urgent Care setting. Services are provided under the supervision of an assigned physician(s). The APP participates in quality assurance, team activities, and resource management. Requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and 12-hour shifts. Must be able to work independently and move between regional Urgent Care locations as directed. Maintains continuing education credits, prescriptive authority, and acquires necessary clinical competencies. Completion of NRCME certification is expected within 30 days of employment. VA Prescription Authority is required. Schedule includes 14 or 16 shifts per month, with 8 or 12-hour shifts depending on the day, and offers productivity bonuses, comprehensive benefits, malpractice coverage, CME allowance, student loan programs, and must be DOT certified before starting.
