Marketing Manager – Proposal Lead
POSITION OVERVIEW
Mackey Mitchell Architects is seeking a Marketing Manager – Proposal Lead to join our team in St. Louis, Dallas, or Asheville. This role plays a vital part in driving the firm's strategic growth by leading proposal efforts, developing pursuit strategies, and crafting compelling content that highlights our values, expertise, and design impact. As a nationally recognized architecture firm, we foster a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture that values curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Proposal Leadership and Strategy: Lead the development and coordination of proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with firm messaging, branding, and client goals. Collaborate with project teams and firm leadership to develop win strategies and articulate differentiators. Support go/no-go processes and facilitate strategic conversations with market leaders. Content Development and Management: Write, edit, and curate proposal content that is accurate, engaging, and client-focused. Maintain and update firm resumes, project descriptions, and boilerplate using tools such as Deltek Vantagepoint and OpenAsset. Assist in developing collateral for public relations, awards, and general firm marketing. Marketing Planning and Support: Assist in establishing and executing annual marketing plans and budgets. Analyze market trends, conduct research, and create targeted strategies for outreach and business development. Collaborate with market sector leaders to shape pursuit strategies and materials. Mentorship and Team Support: Provide leadership and mentorship within the marketing team. Help coordinate cross-training, regular check-ins, and professional development opportunities. Represent the firm at professional and community events, including SMPS involvement. EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's or associate's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of six years of experience in proposal management or marketing within the architecture, engineering, or construction industry. Experience in the higher education sector is a plus. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
