The Director of Operations will ensure the operational success of the Active Index Advisors (AIA), Natixis’ Direct Indexing business, along with the multi-discipline and affiliate product lines. This includes pursuing greater efficiency across all aspects of the business, establishing and reliably adhering to high service levels and operational standards, embedding risk controls that improve implementation consistency and results, achieving high levels of client satisfaction and optimizing all related resources (namely people and technology). The Director of Operations will partner with senior leadership and the Direct Indexing investment team to align strategic goals and operational priorities/objectives. This is a hybrid position located in San Francisco, CA.
What you’ll do: Manage, measure, and improve operational success for the Direct Indexing, multi-discipline and affiliate products, which include client service, operations, performance and vendor/service provider relationships. Lead the vendor oversight program for outsourced services for Direct Indexing, multi-discipline and affiliate product lines, ensuring compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements while fostering strong relationships with vendors to optimize performance and mitigate risks. Evaluate roles & responsibilities, workflow processes, systems and technology architecture to optimize resources, efficiency and scale. This includes recommending and implementing process and workflow improvements, quality control and automation. Collaborate with the investment team to align operational structure and processes with investment objectives for superior results. Work closely with the Technology team to drive technology strategy with the goal of achieving greater operational efficiency, reduced implementation risk and greater scalability. Collaborate with internal business partners, including finance, sales/relationship management, leadership, portfolio management, trading, and human resources to develop and execute operational strategy across AIA, multi-discipline and affiliate products. Navigate market volatility through contingency planning, risk management, and operational resilience. Enhance the client experience by refining back-office processes, workflows, and communication. What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the financial services industry focused on tax advantage/efficient investment strategies and SMAs. Established track record of leading and developing operational teams to achieve high levels of efficiency, performance and scale and optimizing processes, systems, and technology. Strong understanding of operational risk management and experience in implementing risk controls. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to collaborate at all levels of an organization. Experience in vendor management and oversight, compliance and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, contingency planning and risk management. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Commitment to enhancing the client experience through refined back-office processes and engagement strategies. In accordance with the California salary transparency law, the expected annual base salary for this San Francisco, CA, United States-based position is $190,000.00 - $230,000.00. Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other Natixis sponsored benefit programs.
