Position Summary

The General Manager in Training position is a high-profile leadership role. As a GM in Training, you will partner with the current General Manager or Senior General Manager to oversee the club’s overall direction, coordination, and success. Your responsibilities include ensuring the club meets financial goals and providing leadership in customer service, team member relations, sales, business performance, and member engagement.
You will enroll in the General Manager Certification and complete required training provided by Life Time Education. Additionally, you will receive on-the-job training from the club's General Manager and Area Director, supporting a team of 150-300 members and offering ongoing leadership, motivation, and development. You will coach, communicate, and hold Department Managers accountable to The Life Time Way expectations, acting as the club ambassador to deliver an outstanding member experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Attend required General Manager Certification trainings and present on the business plan
Conduct daily inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the club
Review Net Satisfaction Scores to enhance member experience
Monitor budgets and forecast revenue and expenses monthly, quarterly, and annually
Oversee supplies, payroll, cost of goods, and expenses
Mentor Department Managers through training, performance assessments, and feedback
Lead Weekly Department Manager Meetings
Participate in quarterly club assessments with the General Manager and Area Director
Authorize hiring, promotions, employee status changes, and terminations in collaboration with Department Managers
Manage the monthly Manager on Duty program
Position Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
At least 3 years of experience in fitness, hospitality, or retail industry
Minimum of 2 years management experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent interviewing skills
Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
CPR and AED certification
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field
Pay
This is a salaried position starting at $106,400 and up to $146,300, based on experience and qualifications. The role is eligible for bonuses and commissions based on performance, as well as class pay. Benefits
