We are hiring a
Graphic Designer
who supports the overall marketing and design activities of the Market Development team and helps Cascade Energy to deliver professionally designed materials. They will be primarily responsible for creating and developing marketing campaign collateral, presentation and proposal graphics, and energy efficiency program curricula and materials. They will work under the direction of the Marketing Operations Manager and in close collaboration with the Senior Graphic Designer, Marketing Content Specialist, and the Market Development team to ensure projects and deliverables are completed in a timely manner, and are of the highest quality, consistent with Cascade and Client branding guidelines. The Graphic Designer will strive to meet accessibility standards set by clients and Cascade. They will interact routinely with other teams across the company and will need to possess skills in communication, collaboration, information gathering, and task management. This position requires a strong ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and customers and enjoy interpersonal communication. We are looking for someone who is excited by the prospect of working on different project types, creating new assets never developed by Cascade before, and helping us to create our new visualized future. This person should have 5 years of experience delivering graphic design projects from concept to production. A Portfolio or Website must be included on the prequestionnaire AND included as a link on your resume. What You Will Be Doing Develop Marketing Materials: Create visual elements such as logos, original images and illustrations, as well as design of marketing collateral, presentation materials, social media campaigns, educational curricula, photography, videos, and web pages in collaboration with the Market Development team. Produce graphics (maps, graphs, charts, infographics, images, videos, etc.) to be included in marketing collateral and other internally and externally facing materials. Visualize complex technical and scientific information that can engage diverse audiences. Maintain and implement Style Guides which ensure all materials are consistent with Cascade’s branding guidelines and quality standards. Perform final reviews of marketing materials to ensure compliance with Cascade’s brand standards. Execute Design Projects: Work under the direction of the Marketing Operations Manager either independently or in collaboration with the Senior Graphic Designer and Marketing Content Specialist to produce a portfolio of design projects. Competence in planning, executing and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budget. Gather and synthesize multiple client brands and assets in order to develop materials to support energy efficiency program recruitment and delivery. Keep files organized for projects in progress and maintain the internal library of current assets. Look for opportunities to improve the design project management process. Work with vendors to place print orders for delivery of materials across the country. This is a full-time, exempt position to be located in either San Diego, CA or Portland, OR. Other locations may be considered dependent upon skill level and Cascade’s employment registration in the candidate's state of residence.
This will be a hybrid role. Travel is minimal for this role. Qualifications Applicants for this role are required to have: An Associate’s in Design/Graphic Design minimum 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced proficiency with Adobe InDesign , Illustrator, Photoshop, and other CC products, as well as the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint in particular) and/or the ability to become proficient quickly. Typography: Strong understanding of font pairing, kerning, leading and color theory. An advanced understanding of the fundamentals, principles, and process of graphic design. A Portfolio or Website must be included on the prequestionnaire AND included as a link on your resume. A successful candidate should also demonstrate these

: Photography and image editing: Ability to take and edit photographs to be used in various materials. Creativity & Innovation: Ability to generate new ideas and to this outside the box to solve complex design challenges. Understanding of current accessibility standards and the ability to modify designs to meet accessibility requirements. A strong understanding of marketing tactics and approaches including WIIFM messaging and design. A strong understanding of storytelling, specifically visual storytelling, and an ability to understand the audience and translate that into design that educates the audience and delivers value. Proficiency with video editing software, such as Canva, Camtasia, and Adobe Premier Pro and the ability to conceptualize and structure video content in a way that tells a compelling story. Capabilities in the areas of motion graphics, animation, and sound editing are a plus. If advanced to the interview stage, you will be asked to complete an assignment requiring less than 2 hrs. of your time.
