TheUX Product Research Team is responsible for building empathy for the Target Guest and Target Team Member throughout the product development lifecyclefor Targets digital products .
About the job The Senior Researcher is responsible for planning, executing, and synthesizing research to create actionable insights for the cross functional product development team. You will translate research data into powerful stories that help shape Targets digital experiences. This role is a key partner to several functions in the digital group including product managers, UX product designers, engineers, data scientists, content designers, accessibility consultants, and site merchandisers. In this role you will... Use your skills, experience, and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals Drive impact in the Loyalty space by conducting and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative research projects, including in-person moderated testing, remote moderated and unmoderated testing, surveys, heuristic reviews, benchmark studies, concept testing, online and in-store intercepts, ethnographies, and shop-alongs. Utilize both quantitative and qualitative research methods and know when to use one or the other Support Principal and Lead Researchers with research requests, from scoping initiatives, executing testing needs and synthesizing findings Support product teams (product managers, product designers, engineering) throughout the research project life cycle recommending appropriate methodology, scoping, and coordinating the entire process, facilitating in-field research and post-research synthesis through analysis Assist the broader Product Research team in keeping our ongoing research library up-to-date and comprehensive Required Qualifications 4 year degree in Anthropology, Social Science, Design Research, Psychology or related field OR 3-5 years of experience practicing UX design research for digital product teams Experience in Lean UX Research methods, including remote moderated & unmoderated testing, online & in-context (store) intercepts Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to cross functional partners Genuine curiosity about people and experiences Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable speaking to a diverse group of people and leading conversations to discover research insights A strong ability to tell compelling stories from data Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to prioritize; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (both small and large) and adjust to changing priorities Strong project management skills experience managing multiple projects at various stages in the product design life cycle Experience running, recruiting, moderating and analysis of online panels and thinking strategically about their application Proficient in Powerpoint, Outlook, Word and other MS Office software This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Targets needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
