Accounting Clerk – The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team at the
Westin Washington DC, City Center . The Accounting Clerk plays involves Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers. The ideal candidate will possess analytical, detail-oriented, and numerical skills. Key Responsibilities: Prepare daily deposits, change orders and financial sheets that accurately balance the properties revenues, expenses and settlements for any given day. Receive and log Food invoices into Food Purchase Log. Process daily revenue reports and reconcile income from rooms, food & beverage, and other outlets. Investigate, resolve, and respond to inquiries from vendors, department heads, and guests regarding billing issues. Process Guest Refunds & D-Bill Adjustments as necessary. Verify and post accounts receivable/payable transactions ensuring mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Update and report accurately Tax Exemptions Log. Complete financial statements and monthly closing processes Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures. Submit daily financials to the corporate office in the specified timeline. Perform bank reconciliations and reimbursement of Due Backs and Petty Cash audits. Maintain accurate electronic spreadsheets and systems for financial and accounting data. Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or coursework in Accounting or Finance preferred. 1–2 years of accounting experience in a hospitality or hotel environment preferred Strong numerical and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hotel management/accounting systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, QuickBooks, or similar). Proficiency in G-Suit. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach. What We Offer:
