Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) has served the San Francisco Bay Area for 175 years. We offer services including adoption, mental health, senior care, disability services, financial assistance, Holocaust education, and youth development. Our mission is rooted in Jewish values, serving people of all faiths and backgrounds. The Financial Aid Center provides loans, grants, and scholarships for emergency assistance, educational opportunities, business development, and Jewish summer camps/programs for Bay Area residents. We aim to support individuals in developing, restoring, and maintaining their self-reliance. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Director manages daily operations of the Financial Aid Center, provides direct client services, and collaborates with Development and volunteer oversight committees to facilitate loan and grant approvals. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 (depending on experience) Full-time, exempt position with benefits Employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional contributions (eligibility required) Cafeteria benefits plan including health insurance, FSAs, retirement plans, wellness programs 16 holidays annually (federal and Jewish) 3 weeks vacation and 2 weeks sick leave annually ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interview and assist applicants for grants and loans, prepare requests for approval Process applications, ensure documentation is complete and tracked Provide financial planning and budgeting consultations Assist business loan applicants with financial projections and business plan analysis Develop resource materials for loan applicants Staff the Loans and Grants Committee, prepare meetings, present applications Maintain records and database tracking all stages of aid applications and disbursements Produce loan documents, monitor loan repayment, and manage delinquent accounts Collaborate with YouthFirst to inform teens about financial aid and engage past recipients Support staff providing financial and case management services, review requests Work with Development to raise funds and expand resources, engage past recipients for outreach JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred Experience with educational financial aid preferred Ability to analyze financial statements, credit reports, and projections Knowledge of personal financial management strategies Interest in social services and helping individuals attain self-sufficiency Supportive communication skills for client interactions Please attach a cover letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role.
