Duties and Responsibilities:
As a custodian you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our staff and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
Facility Maintenance: Taking out the trash, tidying up, collecting recycling, rearranging furniture, and wiping surfaces as needed. Maintaining floors in pristine condition by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming carpets. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors. Restocking necessary items, such as soap and paper products. General outdoor services and maintenance, including watering plants, lawn mowing, sweeping entry areas, and cleaning glass doors at entrances. Utilizing insecticides safely and effectively to prevent infestation by dangerous pests. Cleaning and servicing custodial equipment as required. Performing minor repairs on furniture, buildings, and equipment. Reporting any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department. Locking and unlocking windows, doors, and gates. Requirements and Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED. Experience as a custodian, janitor, or a similar role is a plus. Knowledge of safety protocols, including the proper disposal of chemicals and hazardous items. Comfortable with basic landscaping and maintenance tasks. Physical capability to work 8-hour shifts on your feet, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Proficiency in understanding and following both verbal and written instructions. Agility for squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Familiarity with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.
