This position is a contract to hire role and will be hybrid out of the Springfield, IL office.
We're seeking an Information Technology Security Analyst to join our growing security operations team. In this role, you'll be on the front lines of defending our organization from cyber threats. You'll investigate incidents, analyze vulnerabilities, and contribute to automation and AI-driven workflows to continuously improve our detection and response capabilities.
This is a hands-on, technical role ideal for someone with a solid foundation in security operations, especially vulnerability management, and a strong interest in leveraging modern tools like XDR, EDR, and security automation frameworks.
Responsibilities: Incident Response: Triage and investigate alerts and security events, including endpoint threats, phishing attempts, and suspicious user behavior.
Vulnerability Management: Perform regular scanning, analysis, and prioritization of vulnerabilities; coordinate remediation efforts with IT and business units.
Security Monitoring: Use tools like XDR, EDR, and other security platforms to monitor, detect, and respond to threats.
Automation and AI: Support the development of automated workflows to improve efficiency in investigations, response, and reporting using platforms like SOAR or custom scripts.
Email Filtering & Threat Detection: Analyze potentially malicious emails and support tuning of email filtering systems.
Threat Intelligence: Leverage internal and external intelligence sources to stay informed on emerging threats and apply those insights to improve defenses.
Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for investigations, response procedures, and security findings.
Collaboration: Work closely with IT, compliance, and business teams to implement secure practices and support risk mitigation initiatives.
Requirements Requires a Bachelor's degree or 1-5 years of equivalent experience. Advanced level certifications in key focus areas desired.
Pay Range:
$71,500.00 - $105,400.00
Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
