Healthcare Risk Advisors is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data Strategy team. This is a hybrid opportunity located at our New York City office.
The Data Analyst will be responsible for assisting with analyzing claims data, preparing regular deliverables derived from the analyses, and assisting in client relations. The ideal candidate will have an eagerness to learn, an analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, with a foundation in the finance/actuarial field. The Data Analyst be responsible for a) mining the HRA proprietary and third-party data for novel insights into medical malpractice b) creating PowerBI reports and dashboards for use by stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverage the Databricks and Power BI platforms to collect data insights, optimize data analytics capabilities, and perform analysis with our current data assets and third-party datasets. Consistently develop and produce new innovative visuals and data stories using data visualization tools. Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial and IT departments in interpreting the data, identifying key trends and anomalies, and working collaboratively to discern the potential drivers. Seek opportunities to improve service, quality, and analytic capabilities to support our internal customer departments. Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis using data warehouse as assigned. Assist in analyzing third party datasets which can be utilized by the actuarial team, underwriting and data analytics teams in pricing, reserving, and clients' insights. Works on multiple projects concurrently. Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field Experience Required:
3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry or relevant sector Knowledge of health care delivery systems, claims data and medical terminology preferred Competencies:
Fluent with Microsoft Excel, SQL & Power BI Experience with Python, R, and other programming languages preferred Experience working with databases, ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines, and data pipelines preferred Demonstrate quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail with a willingness and ability to solicit and incorporate feedback into work product Ability to synthesize data and analysis into effective reporting formats Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Deliver accurate and complete information under deadlines. Salary Range:
$84,106 - $110,389
Compensation varies based on skills, knowledge, and education. We consider factors such as specialized skills, depth of knowledge in the field, and educational background to ensure fair and competitive pay.
