This is a remote position with significant travel expectations (80% to 90% travel). The role will require travel for extended periods, typically 2 to 3 weeks at a time, to locations out of state. Hours:

Special Projects Director

who has experience in the

Human Services industry

to join our team and support the Colonial and East Regions in delivering high-quality services for individuals with developmental disabilities. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Provide project management, administrative, and strategic support across multiple regional initiatives. Lead and assist in launching and stabilizing new services and programs. Support marketing, RFP responses, and the development of new business opportunities. Offer interim leadership during upper management vacancies. Drive policy development, quality improvement, and organizational innovation. Collaborate with senior management to shape systems that support efficiency, compliance, and service excellence. Qualifications

MUST HAVE: Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field (Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, etc.) 7+ years of progressive management experience, with a focus on leading and managing within human services, ideally in residential and/or day services for individuals with disabilities. Project Management Experience: Prior experience managing projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and team coordination. Prior experience and knowledge working with ID, DD, IDD, ICF, HCBS, CIIBS, MR or Medicaid Waivers. NICE TO HAVE: Managed care experience Demonstrated strong business acumen and strategic planning. Ability to think and act from an overall “best for the business” perspective. Knowledgeable and adaptable to new software technologies; as well being an intermediate level user of basic software like: Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint.

Business Development : Expertise in identifying growth opportunities, navigating RFPs, and managing provider application processes with strong organizational skills. Quality Improvement : Strong background in evaluating services, developing quality improvement plans, conducting reviews, and ensuring regulatory compliance to drive continuous service enhancement. Adaptability & Independence : Able to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Policy & Systems Knowledge : In-depth understanding of regulatory, operational, and compliance frameworks within human services. Communication & Collaboration : Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to engage all levels of the organization, contractors, vendors, and oversight agencies, fostering open and honest collaboration.
