Job Description
The Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Advanced Practice Providers (APP's). This leader will have oversight of APP workforce planning, professional development, performance analysis, and enhancement. In addition, this leader collaborates across the organization with clinical and administrative leaders on designing and implementing an APP workforce strategy to optimize clinical care. They are responsible for prioritization that aligns with the overall organizational strategy, to deliver high-quality care, and patient safety that supports a performance improvement culture. The Director functions as primary resource regarding APP's practice principles. The leader must possess strong leadership, team building, and decision-making capability and demonstrate excellent communication, coordination, and collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the system.
Experience
5 years in a leadership role 5 years of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant experience Preferred Qualifications
PhD or Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) Experience working with and/or overseeing APPs, in both, the inpatient & outpatient setting Previous experience in an academic health care institution Education
Master's degree in nursing or physician assistant studies Certification Summary
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of Georgia or licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association Additional certifications as determined by area of clinical practice Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication, both written & verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills Strong presentation skills to showcase credibility and effectiveness Excellent working knowledge of the APRN & PA scope of practice, licensure requirements, regulatory and certification requirements and credentialling process Ability to develop sound business and financial plans as it relates to the utilization of the APP role Ability to build, collaborate and sustain business relationships across a healthcare system Ability to drive success and leverage the APP role within a complex academic healthcare setting Analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex administrative challenges Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, including but not limited to, administrative teams, physicians, nurses, clinical support teams, patients/families, and others from the community to achieve customer goals Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
