More information on SENMC can be obtained from its website at Purpose and Scope: Under supervision of the Vice President of Workforce and Community Engagement, The Simulator Lab Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and technical support of the Southeast New Mexico College Simulation Lab, a high-tech training facility supporting workforce readiness and heavy equipment programs. This position plays a key role in design, delivery, and continuous improvement of simulation-based instruction while managing day-to-day lab operations, equipment maintenance, and user support. Working closely with faculty, students, industry stakeholders, and technology vendors, the Simulator Lab Coordinator ensures simulations run efficiently and align with current industry standards and training goals. The role includes scheduling, curriculum support, simulation setup and operation, technical troubleshooting, and strategic lab improvement planning. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to develop and deliver simulation-based training aligned with workforce demands and safety standards. Assist in creating and revising curriculum, lesson plans, and performance objectives for simulation-based instruction. Facilitate simulation sessions, provide live technical support, and ensure a realistic, engaging training environment. Adjust training delivery methods based on student skill levels and program needs. Promote simulation capabilities to employers, community organizations, and prospective students. Coordinate and maintain scheduling of simulation lab usage, training sessions, and equipment. Set up, operate, and maintain simulation technologies, including heavy equipment simulators, task trainers, VR systems, and audiovisual components. Prepare simulation scenarios using equipment, props, and moulage to replicate real-world conditions. Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting during live training. Ensure lab cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all safety and operational standards. Maintain up-to-date equipment logs, inventory reports, and maintenance documentation. Develop and distribute clear user guides and reference materials for simulation tools. Serve as the primary contact for simulator performance concerns; diagnose issues and coordinate support with vendors and manufacturers. Participate in vendor coordination for system upgrades, calibrations, and technical training. Collect and report data on simulator usage, maintenance history, and training effectiveness for internal evaluation and external reporting. Lead or assist in grant-related simulation activities, including implementation tracking and outcome reporting. Continuously assess lab operations and instructional impact and implement improvement strategies based on feedback and industry trends. Perform other duties as assigned to support the lab operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in basic computer operations, software troubleshooting, and equipment setup. Strong understanding of safety protocols and lab organization. Experience or familiarity with simulation-based learning environments and instructional technology. Ability to follow complex technical instructions and documentation accurately. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing effective support to students, faculty, and external partners. Strong time-management and multitasking abilities, particularly in a fast-paced training environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and user instructions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Adaptability to evolve technologies, software platforms, and simulation methods.
