First Shift, 5:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Job Summary: We are seeking a
Packaging Assembler
to perform manual and automated packaging and labeling of skeleton kits, transport tubes, penetrable caps, and final kits in accordance with production schedules and cGMP guidelines. The role also includes filling, capping, and bagging lysing tubes, swabs, and kit ancillaries. You will operate a variety of packaging equipment, maintain a clean and organized work area, and follow safety and quality protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform manual and semi-automated labeling of tubes, kits, and kit components per approved instructions. Assemble kits, including bagging, racking, filling, and capping lysing tubes and kit ancillaries. Rotate through various packaging and filling operations. Complete ERP system transactions for processing orders. Set up, operate, maintain, and clean packaging conveyors, inkjet coders, scanners, box erectors, paper folders, taping, and labeling machines. Maintain work areas per 6S guidelines, ensuring proper waste disposal and equipment storage. Verify quantities and stage correct packaging materials and components. Keep accurate device history records, logbooks, and training documentation. Assist in label and line clearance procedures. Transfer materials and products to designated warehouse locations. Contribute to My CI, Quality Spots, and Safety Hazard Spotting initiatives. Assist the Packaging Assembler 2 in maintaining efficient production flow. Train new and temporary employees in packaging assembly responsibilities. Required Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. 0-1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience. Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience in medical device manufacturing. ERP system experience. Required Skills:
Ability to operate pallet jacks (electrical pallet jack experience preferred). Basic understanding of recordkeeping and mathematics. Basic cGMP knowledge. Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards. Ability to read and follow assembly drawings and procedures. Additional Skills:
Basic hand tool knowledge (pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches). Detail orientation and accuracy. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Benefits:
