Platform Orchestration Engineer A Platform Orchestration Engineer focuses on designing, building, and maintaining the underlying infrastructure and tools that enable developers to build and deploy applications efficiently. They are responsible for automating infrastructure, managing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security and compliance, and enabling selfservice capabilities for developers. Their work aims to optimize developer productivity and platform efficiency. As a result, your role involves streamlining workflows, optimizing performance, and ensuring the smooth delivery of applications while fostering best practices in building scalable, resilient, and secure solutions. Essential Functions The essential responsibilities performed within this position include: Supervisory • Build and maintain our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) which is characterized by a collection of tools and workflows that developers can use to automate common tasks, such as building, testing, and deploying applications. • Define and drive the technology roadmap for the platform DevSecOps and developer productivity, ensuring it aligns with business needs and future trend in concert with the team and management. • Create and oversee the architecture of the DevSecOps and developer productivity, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and performance. • Mentor platform engineering team members, providing technical guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement • Manage our Internal Developer Platform (IDP), comprising a suite of tools and workflows that enable developers to automate common tasks like building, testing, and deploying applications. • Guarantee the platform's ease of use, allowing developers swift access to necessary resources. Individual Contributor • Manage cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and other underlying technologies that support the automated developer experience. • Automate tasks that would otherwise require manual effort, such as creating and managing environments. • Manage DevSecOps infrastructure, Developer Productivity tools, and other underlying technologies that support the automated developer experience. • Research and evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for potential implementation in the platform • Develop platforms DevSecOps infrastructure and Developer Productivity tools that support an automated Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by writing software to minimize manual interventions and add new features. Platform Orchestration Engineer Page | Confidential 2 • Create Terraform, Templates, Components, and Policies for our DevSecOps Platform to automate build, test, and deployment processes. • Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure architecture, DevSecOps, Developer Productivity, processes, and deployments. • Identify and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and availability of the platform. • Work closely with other engineering teams, management, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful platform deployments. • Produce clean, well-documented, and testable code. Information Security • Provide security guidance and direction to the software engineering team specific to automation, ensuring adherence to DevOps standards and best practices. • Review code, architecture, and design processes to enforce quality and security efficiency. • Stay abreast of new security technologies and trends to ensure the team is leveraging the latest security posture advancements. Platform Orchestration Engineer Page | Confidential 3 Skills The functional / technical skills you must demonstrate include: • Expertise with DevSecOps Platforms, Development Productivity, Build and Automation Tools, SDLC Gates and Guardrails, and Engineering and DevOps practices and standards. • Extensive experience in building, managing, and troubleshooting Applications, Build and Automation Tools, CI/CD Pipelines, and other DevSecOps components throughout the SDLC. • Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and mentor other engineers. • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve the most complex technical problems. • Driver and Self-starter with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. • Expert-level in multiple programming languages and tools for Applications, Infrastructure, and Automation. • Expert-level in scripting, CLI, and troubleshooting, supporting multiple shells concurrently. • Expert-level experience with Git, including advanced branching strategies and pull request workflows. • Hands-on experience with an Authentication and Authorization platforms. Experience • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience as a DevOps or DevSecOps Engineer, with a strong focus on infrastructure and automation. • Minimum 5+ years automation experience of the SDLC process. • Minimum 5+ years in a lead or supervisory role in a DevOps or DevSecOps discipline. • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. • Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing production-level cloud environments, preferably AWS. Education • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • Master's degree with a concentration in information technology management, project management, computer science, information security, advanced/applied analytics or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Requirements Platform Orchestration Engineer Page | Confidential 4 Physical Demand • This job operates in a professional office environment. • Most periods of time regularly require standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. • Some periods of time may be spent in computer room and communications equipment spaces for installation, testing, and troubleshooting. Some work requires moving and lifting of moderate to heavy computer equipment. Attendance • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. • Work schedules may differ based upon responsibilities demanding before or after hours to meet a business need. • Remote working for those that are eligible is at the discretion of Management. • This role may require infrequent, minimal travel to attend technology education conferences and training.
