$84,181.92/yr - $125,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Texas Health and Human Services The Sr PeopleSoft Developer reports to the CAPPS Financials IT Manager within Health and Human Service Commissions (HHSC) Information Technology (IT) ERP department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing highly advanced code design and development and senior-level systems administration work. Work involves overseeing the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operations of the HHSC CAPPS (PeopleSoft) Financials system. Additional responsibilities include installs and upgrades to CAPPS Financials server components and system software. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Produces technical analysis and solutions for the CAPPS Financials application that ensures consistency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) industry standards, State of Texas ERP standards, and existing HHSC strategies and projects in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Develops technical analysis results that demonstrate integration of strategic HHSC master system architecture and are expandable without major redesigns by established due dates. Develops technical solutions with consideration of applicable ERP industry standards, State of Texas ERP standards, and official HHSC automation standards that meet immediate needs and provide for HHSC agencys long-term needs by established due dates. (40%) Produces documentation for the CAPPS Financials application that ensures consistency with ERP industry standards, State of Texas ERP standards, and existing HHSC strategies and projects in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Develops thorough technical documentation for internal IT staff or external customers that is consistent with established ERP, State of Texas and HHSC standards. When necessary, assists in the development and/or review of functional documentation for customers as it relates to a ERP technical solution developed that is consistent with established ERP, State of Texas and HHSC standards. (20%) Provides direction and knowledge transfer of ERP technical analysis/development skills consistent with ERP industry standards, State of Texas ERP standards, and existing HHSC strategies and projects in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Performs mentoring and documentation that result in knowledge transfer to other ERP technical analysts within the HHS organization to aid in the development of their technical skills. Develops work plans and directs the activities of other ERP technical analysts within the HHS organization to produce technical solutions and work products in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures by established due dates. (20%) Participates in Data Gathering and Joint Application Design Sessions that produce expected deliverables in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. (5%) Develops and provides routine status reports to CAPPS Financials Manager in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. (5%) Keeps professional skills updated and consistent with current information technology trends. (5%) Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain and support effective and efficient IT operations. (5%) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.2 development, PeopleSoft administration, PeopleSoft upgrade/implementation or PeopleSoft 9.2 Financials production support Knowledge of computer programming and architecture of scripting languages. Knowledge of internet security administration. Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Skilled in coordinating solutions to problems, in developing or revising system configurations. Skilled in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing system software. Skilled in troubleshooting computer systems. Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues. Ability to use network management, administration and other system administration tools. Ability to analyze systems and procedures. Ability to write and revise standards and procedures. Ability to handle multiple projects. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications: N/A Initial Screening Criteria: Graduation from a college or university with major coursework in computer science or a related field is generally preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to 4 (four) years. At least 10 years of PeopleSoft development with Admin or similar experience Additional Information: Any employment offer is contingent upon available budgeted funds. The offered salary will be determined in accordance with budgetary limits and the requirements of HHSC Human Resources Manual. Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. This is a hybrid position based in Austin with at least three (3) days in the office required.
