About BROC:

At the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic our goal is to providea seamless continuum of health care services to maximize patients' outcomes andconvenience. We offer an organized and coordinated continuum to provide betterand timelier feedback between the patient, physician, and ancillary servicesprovider. Our main campus is located on Bluebonnet, but we have various clinicsand therapies across the state of Louisiana as well as the BROC foundation thatsupports local schools and athletic programs by providing services throughoutvarious communities.

Summary:

The Patient Access Representatives are important members ofour team who are responsible for coordinating the daily administration for ourdoctors, staff, visitors, and patients at our clinics. This role is responsiblecheck-in, collecting payments, and answering patient inquiries. This positionis in the front office in our medical clinics and reports to our officesupervisor. The hours of the operation are Monday- Friday 8am to 5pm. We arelooking for dedicated and caring team members to join our team!

Duties:

Greets patients or customers in a friendly and professionalmanner, including welcoming the patient, making eye contact, and smiling.

Check-in patients for appointments.

Completes the registration of the patient, explaining thepaperwork to be completed to the patient if necessary.

Ensures that a clear copy of the patients' current insurancecard(s) and demographic information is entered into the patients' medicalrecord. Prints the superbill and gives to the patient.

Enters electronic messages to other departments to assistwith patient flow.

Directs the patient to the payment counter to collect theappropriate co-pays or balances due. Otherwise, directs the patient to theappropriate area of the clinic for the physicians/providers, nurses, andmedical staff to care for the patient and document the medical record.

Performs appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation inthe medical record as is applicable to patient service duties.

Maintains HIPAA privacy and security and provides the BROCNotice of Privacy Practices to new patients or to any person who requests it.

Distributes patient satisfaction surveys as instructed bySupervisor or upon patient request.

Performs other related duties as assigned and serves inwhatever other capacity deemed necessary for successful completion of themission and goals of BROC

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to learn electronic practice management andscheduling software.

Ability to understand and closely adhere to patientscheduling policies, guidelines, and protocols.

Reliable form of transportation to work daily

Prior experience in scheduling is desired

Ability to pass a drug screening

Ability to learn computerized medical office work
