We take a holistic approach, providing comprehensive services to thousands of children and adults in our neighborhoods, no matter their disability, military status, income, race, or age: To help each child reach their full potential, we provide personalized child development and early intervention services. To improve health and reduce isolation in adults with disabilities, we offer engaging activities and expansive resources. To enable military families to integrate into the community, we provide a suite of services, including employment support and mental healthcare. And to sustain families and caregivers, we provide comprehensive services and support.

As the Easterseals affiliate serving Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, (www.eseal.org) Easterseals DC MD VA works through public-private partnerships to provide community-based services in the most efficient manner possible. These traits were demonstrated in the opening our Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center, which has quickly become an international model of excellence for delivering superior outcomes, including creating meaningful connections between generations. It was opened through visionary partnership among local, state, and national governments, as well as private individual, corporate, and foundation investment. The shared resources created a maximum return on investment for the community.Through a variety of resources, Easterseals provides information and guidance about how to navigate changing needs within our communities.

Job Title:
Adult Day Services, Lead Driver
Department:
Adult Day Services
Location : Varies by Center- Hagerstown, Baltimore, or Silver Spring
Reports to:
Center Director, ADS
FLSA Classification:

Job Summary:
The Lead Driver is responsible for safely transporting participates to and from the center in a timely and professional manner, employee schedules & timesheets, participant routes and managing the Transportation department within the Center.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate transportation pick-up and drop-off routes. Maintain current and clear driver's license, classification appropriate for van size. Ensure the usage of seat belts for him/her and passengers. Maintain cleanliness of vans, maintain full fuel tank and coordinate routine maintenance schedule and non-routine services. Complete daily pre/post checks and safety check of all vans including fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Maintain current list of participants with emergency contacts (names, phone numbers and addresses). Maintain appropriate operation of cellular phones in vans. Report any incidents of neglect, abuse or other significant condition to the Center Director. Report any deviation from written instructions of family caregiver on procedures for pick up and drop off to the Center Director or designee. Report any change in condition or functioning level to the Center Director or designee. Participate in scheduled trips away from the Center as necessary. Enforce No Eating, Drinking or Smoking restrictions on vans. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
GED or High School Diploma. 5 years professional experience. Current Class C/non-commercial driver's license in good standing (annually reviewed). Clean criminal record. Current CPR and First Aid. Must be 21 years of age or older. Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with participants, families, care providers, colleagues, community referral sources, and the general community. Ability to deal with and manage physical and cognitive impairments of participants boarding and exiting the vans. Internal Relationships and Language:
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Aware of potential hazards or problems within the environment and seek out supervision promptly. Report issues, successes, and concerns promptly to Activity Director. Work as a team member with Center Management. Work collaboratively with all center staff. Aware of confidentiality of client information. Computer Skills:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
Able to maneuver various pathways for entry / exit into locations. Able to lift, carry and move a variety of items such as supplies, equipment, therapy equipment and supplies, approximately 50 lbs or less. Able to assist participants in and out of the vehicles.
