Description & Requirements At Sustainable Finance Solutions (SFS), we empower clients to assess the long-term sustainability and financial outlook of companies through data-driven insight into climate risks, regulatory shifts, and human capital trends. As investors increasingly seek more socially responsible investing or as they aim to better understand sustainability-related risks and opportunities, our work is becoming central to how they make informed investment and strategic decisions. The SFS Engineering Team is at the core of this mission. We design and build the infrastructure that powers our sustainable finance productshandling vast and complex datasets, delivering high-performance APIs, and solving distributed systems challenges at scale. We work on everything from ingesting hundreds of millions of climate scenario records to serving low-latency queries for regulatory reporting and research tools. We are a growth-oriented team that encourages and nurtures innovation. We are passionate about writing high-quality software, with a strong focus on developer experience, automation, and testability. Design, build, and maintain clean, high-quality, and reliable code
Take full ownership of products and the technical decisions behind them
Contribute to the teams daily operations and help improve how we work together
Stay curious and explore new technologies that can strengthen our systems
Tackle complex scaling and distributed system challenges using both open-source and Bloomberg-developed tools
You will need to have: 4+ years working with an object-oriented programming language (C/C++, Python, Java, etc.)
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Splunk, or Humio
Experience with CI/CD tooling and automation
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
We would love to see: Proficiency in Python
Experience in designing and building high-volume, scalable, maintainable, high-availability systems
Background in driving architectural decisions and leading cross-team projects
Familiarity with Kafka and data lake technologies at scale
A strong commitment to clean, reliable, and maintainable code
Experience in mentoring less experienced engineers
Salary Range = 160000 - 240000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
