High school diploma/GED required. College degree or Coding certificate required. Insurance/coding experience preferred. Excellent computer skills and strong organizational skills required. Strong knowledge of ICD-9 coding required.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in all areas of the business office daily operations. Proficiently codes encounters by ICD-10-CM coding regulations and guidelines. Plans ahead and is well organized and manages time well. Effectively uses time to complete job assignments Assists with answering phones in a professional and courteous manner. Enters charges into billing system by effectively coding by coding rules and guidelines and proficiently opens, closes, prints, and balances batches daily. Back up receptionists up front as needed for lunches, vacations, and late nights. Maintains a high standard of work even under pressure of deadlines and frequent interruptions, remaining professional, responsive, and cooperative. Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others. Able to verify insurance correctly. Answer phones in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Ensure compliance with DHH and HIPPA standards. Responsible for scanning daily paperwork Medical Records duties as assigned Other duties assigned by Office Manager, COO, or CEO.
