Principal Solutions Architect (Azure)

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Solutions Architect (Azure) to join our team in Herndon, VA. We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Solutions Architect (Azure) to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and mission-aligned cloud solutions for our client. In this leadership role, you will partner with customer stakeholders to architect a cloud-based platform while ensuring compliance with federal security and regulatory standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD IL). Additionally, you will act as a trusted advisor to federal IT stakeholders, technology vendors, and senior leadership, guiding them through complex cloud transformation initiatives using Microsoft Azure, AWS, and other complementary technologies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Engage directly with federal stakeholders and technology vendors to understand mission priorities and translate them into secure, cloud-native architectures on Azure and AWS. Design end-to-end Azure-based solutions encompassing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components aligned with compliance standards (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, CMMC, etc.). Lead architecture reviews and technical solutioning sessions with both internal teams and client representatives. Provide technical leadership on the design, implementation and optimization of solutions. Collaborate with federal customers and the technology vendor integrate third-party services and ensure interoperability. Guide DevSecOps practices and automation strategies using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps. Stay ahead of cloud trends, emerging technologies, and evolving federal cybersecurity mandates. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR 4+ years of additional IT work experience. 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft Azure in enterprise or government environments. Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and policies (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, RMF, Zero Trust Architecture). Proven experience designing and implementing mission-critical solutions for U.S. federal agencies. Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Strong customer-facing communication skills, including executive briefings and technical presentations. Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret or higher-level security clearance. Preferred qualifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certifications. Prior experience supporting DoD, IC or Federal/Civilian agencies. Experience with containers, Kubernetes (AKS), and microservices architectures. Understanding of identity and access management using Azure AD, ADFS, and PIV/CAC. Experience working with Microsoft Government Cloud offerings (Azure Government, Microsoft 365 GCC High). Clearance requirements: US Citizenship Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret or higher-level security clearance Physical requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
