Position Summary:
The Web Content Manager will oversee and enhance our church's online presence. The Web Content Manager is responsible for uploading weekly sermons, maintaining website functionality, and ensuring a seamless user experience for our congregation. The Web Content Manager is responsible for creating, updating and optimizing content for the website and mobile application. The Web Content Manager plays a vital role in connecting our community through technology, enhancing our church's outreach, and supporting spiritual growth through innovative digital solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Collaborate with the Media team for graphics to effectively communicate church initiatives, services, and events Ensure that website and mobile application content delivers a seamless user experience for the staff, members, and guests Collaborate with the Media team to oversee over website and mobile application content to ensure quality control of visuals and copy; ensure published content aligns to brand styles and standards Manage the daily operations for website and mobile application projects including tracking progress and ensuring accurate, timely delivery Develop and implement strategy that reflects the ministry needs and increases direct response traffic Keep website relevant with the latest digital promotion trends and best practices Regularly monitor the WordPress Engine for optimal performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise Keep PHP code updated to enhance performance and security Integrate widgets and plug-ins into the website to enhance functionality and user experience Develop and launch dedicated web pages for significant Sundays and events (Easter, Vision Sunday, Christmas) that capture the essence and themes of these occasions Upload new events and relevant information to the mobile application, ensuring timely announcements and user accessibility Upload and manage devotional plans within the mobile application, ensuring they are accessible and easy to navigate for users Upload weekly sermons to our church app and website to ensure easy access for members Regularly post sermon notes and bulletins on the app to provide relevant resources for our members and guests Create and manage shortlinks for various church ministries, facilitating easier access for our members and the community Ensure accurate and effective translation of content on the website to accommodate our bilingual audience Monitor and analyze website traffic and user behavior to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Manage our Google Business profile, ensuring accurate information is available to our community Create QR codes for various church events and resources to facilitate easy access for attendees Other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Education and Experience: Associate degree or equivalent experience
The ability and willingness to self-educate is more important to us than a degree
W3Schools or similar certification edX certificate Critical Skills:
HTML5 WordPress/Divi W3CSS UI/UX design experience Desired, but not necessary skills: Familiarity with database concepts HTML 5 PHP Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook Constant learner who is eager to grow in field and leadership Able to initiate and drive projects to completion without constant oversight Excellent communication skills Able to work across teams and to partner with other ministries, using the skills and gifts of others to create a better and effective final product Knows personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and limits; seeks feedback; gains insights from mistakes; is open to criticism; is not defensive; is receptive to talking about shortcomings Exceptionally organized with an operational and administrative mind with a keen eye for attention to detail Spiritual Requirements:
