We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer, EPMS to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Schneider Electric PME (Power Monitoring Expert) and electrical power meter systems. This role involves working closely with contractors and clients to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the successful implementation of our solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on control systems, Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience. Must have a valid drivers license and good driving history.
Experience: 2+ years experience with electrical fundamentals as well as with electrical equipment, Schneider Electric PME, and electrical metering.
Experience related to Electrical Power Monitoring Systems; Building Automation Systems, Systems Integration, and/or Energy Management Systems. Experience working around electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, etc. Thorough understanding of power generation, power distribution, and power quality concepts. Good understanding of Schneider Electric and other manufactures power meters Good understanding of industry-standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus and RS485 Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware. Ability to technically troubleshoot network communications. Direct experience with Schneider Electric Power Monitoring Expert.
Travel: Up to 75%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary and can include, but is not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays. The ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Focus on the deployment of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across a wide array of customer facilities. Customer-facing position - the successful candidate must work well in a team environment and will interface directly with contractors and end-users daily. Responsibilities for this position include performing software installation, customization, and start-up services; start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical power monitoring equipment; meter installation and configuration, device communications; and providing customer training for the commissioned system. Consulting with customers to determine system operation requirements. Configuring and commissioning Schneider Electric software and 3rd party hardware. Performing start-up services and system troubleshooting. Documenting the as-built system. Interpret contract specifications and electrical (or mechanical) drawings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work effectively in a group setting, team-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
