Senior QA Manual Tester
to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying issues, and ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tester with strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of QA best practices, and the ability to mentor junior testers. Key Responsibilities: Be a subject matter expert on OCC business processes and procedures Be a liaison between the IT department and the business Design, develop, and execute detailed manual test cases and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements. Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing across various applications and platforms. Document and track issues and enhancements using Jira and QMetry that include detailed requirements, reproduce steps, screen mockups, and a proposed solution Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and resolve issues. Review and provide feedback on requirements and specifications to identify gaps or ambiguities. Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test summary reports. Lead test efforts and coordinate QA activities for releases, ensuring thorough coverage and risk-based testing. Mentor junior QA team members Identify opportunities for automation and business process efficiencies Update and maintain the IT Wiki Maintain, enforce, and adhere to all IT and Security policies Other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer information systems or similar discipline Certified Software Tester (CSTE) certification or equivalent 8+ years of experience in manual software testing. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, QMetry). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Prior experience with Agile development methodologies Ability to get up to speed quickly and dig into all business processes Motivated self-starter with a powerful desire to learn new skills as necessary Ability to work with changing requirements and remain focused on the overall goal Ability to apply a logical and organized approach to problem solving Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed accurately, completely and on time. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger). Experience in testing web and mobile applications. Understanding of database concepts and ability to write basic SQL queries. Exposure to automated testing concepts or tools (even if not the primary focus). Compensation: Yearly bonus Seniority level
