Machine Specialties, LLC (MSI) is a leading contract machining and metal finishing company that designs and manufactures sophisticated, cost-effective solutions to meet our clients' most demanding challenges. Our company is located in Whitsett, NC, about 8 miles outside of Greensboro, NC.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced

Shipping & Receiving Clerk

to join our hard-working, fun and energetic team. This is a full-time position that reports to the Shipping and Receiving Manager. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk oversees the incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that products are properly packed, documented, and shipped to the correct locations. They maintain accurate records, inspect incoming shipments for damage, and collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. Cleaning and straightening up around the department as needed. Key functions include but are not limited to receiving shipments, preparing shipments, inventory management along with communication and coordination. Responsibilities: Verify and process incoming shipments, checking items against purchase orders and packing slips. Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies, reporting issues to management. Unpack, label, and stock inventory in appropriate storage areas. Pick, pack, and label orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer requirements. Arrange transportation with carriers and prepare shipping documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and customs paperwork when needed. Ensure shipments meet the necessary safety and quality standards. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts. Track and update inventory records in the company's system, ensuring real-time accuracy. Assist with inventory control procedures, including receiving reports and discrepancies. Communicate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and resolve issues with delayed or missing shipments. Perform any other duties required in the department or in other areas of the shop on an as needed basis. Skills Needed: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with basic computer programs (MS Office, shipping software). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Basic math skills for handling shipping costs and inventory. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory management preferred. Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift and move heavy packages (often 50 lbs or more). Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures, including international shipments (preferred).
