About the Role: The Receiver plays a critical role in the retail trade industry by managing the intake and processing of incoming merchandise and shipments. This position ensures that all products received are accurately checked against purchase orders and invoices, maintaining inventory integrity and supporting efficient stock management. The Receiver collaborates closely with warehouse and sales teams to facilitate timely product availability and resolve any discrepancies or damages. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to maintain accurate records and support inventory control systems. Ultimately, the Receiver contributes to the smooth operation of the supply chain, directly impacting customer satisfaction and store performance. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic experience in inventory management or receiving in a retail or warehouse environment. Ability to lift and move heavy items safely. Familiarity with basic computer systems and inventory software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Receiver or in a similar role within retail trade. Knowledge of retail inventory management systems such as RFID or barcode scanning. Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays as needed. Responsibilities: Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition. Verify received goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Record and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate departments. Organize and store merchandise in designated areas following company protocols. Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock management systems. Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure timely product availability. Assist in periodic inventory audits and stock counts. Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures during receiving activities. Skills: The required skills such as attention to detail and organizational ability are essential for accurately verifying shipments and maintaining inventory records, which prevents stock discrepancies and supports operational efficiency. Basic computer literacy enables the Receiver to use inventory management software to log and track merchandise effectively.
