Description
The Global Transportation Analyst is the main point of contact for ocean tracking, carrier cost savings, and management of international carrier relationships. This role ensures customer satisfaction through the improvement and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, company policy, legal and regulatory considerations, and company/regional Safety and Quality procedures. It also supports global trade compliance through proper use of HTS tariff codes, customs documentation, and adherence to all import/export laws and regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Establish performance metrics for evaluating supply chain total cost of ownership
  • Track international shipments, ensuring all required documentation (invoices, packing lists) is accurate and complete
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, and duty payment
  • Monitor and apply trade compliance practices, including tariff classification and use of trade programs or free trade agreements
  • Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers to ensure smooth cross-border shipments
  • Finalize and incorporate forecasts into the SIOP planning process, influencing inventory, financial, and capacity planning
  • Manage global carrier relationships and lead annual RFP processes
  • Create and track supply chain cost-saving initiatives
  • Track KPI metrics across international supply chain activities
  • Maintain proactive communication of shipment status with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointEffective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • General negotiation skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • Experience with HTS tariff codes, international customs compliance, global shipping documentation, and import/export processes
  • Comfortable working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international logistics providers
Education / Training Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or quantitative fields or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of industry supply chain, inventory management, forecasting, procurement, or logistics experience

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
