Requires valid state driver's license and safe driving recordRHA Health Services is recruiting for a Residential Treatment Specialist (Behavioral Health Tech) for the Mary Benson House. Mary Benson House is a home-like setting that provides 24-hour housing and substance abuse treatment for adult pregnant and/or parenting women and their children from birth to five years old. Our goal is to ensure that healthy babies are born while helping mothers move toward recovery and maintain a stable, sober, independent life with their children. MBH serves Western North Carolina.To support the goals of the mothers the Treatment Specialist provides direct care to individuals with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders in a residential setting ensuring the safety and well being of each resident. Our Ideal Treatment specialist is caring, patient, and fair while supporting the therapeutic environment, providing individual and group support as appropriate including meal preparation, childcare, transportation, and the general well-being of the residents Some of the responsibilities include:Provides direct care to residents as delegated by the program manager, program director, or supervisorSupports residents in building skills for community and independent living goals consistently and according to policy and standardsFacilitates safe and efficient transportation in company vehiclesMonitors the self-administration of medication for residentsAssists residents and children with nutritional needsObserves residents and effectively communicates significant changes or reactions to care to treatment teamConsistently anticipates and meets residents needsConsistently follows the plan of care designed to meet the emotional needs of the residents, including safety level checks as appropriateAbility to provide trauma-informed and culturally-responsive care to underserved populationsCommunicates effectively, verbally and in writing, with residents, family, and co-workersConsistently demonstrates positive interpersonal behaviors and attitudes as a model for the residents and to promote team cohesionAssists other team members as the need arisesOur ideal Treatment Specialist has positive motivational coaching and training skills, patient listening and communication skills, and excels at what they do because they truly care about the people they serve.Additional requirements for the Treatment Specialist include:This classification requires: High school diploma and two years experience in a mental or physical health care field OR an associate of arts in mental health/related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Experience in the field of substance abuse and/or mental health preferred.Valid state driver's license and safe driving recordPre-employment screening:Complete criminal backgroundName checked in the registries.
