Job Description: Project Finance Associate (3rd-5th Year)
Location: New York, NY or Washington, D.C.
Direct Counsel is representing an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a 3rd to 5th year Associate to join its Energy Advisory Group in either the New York or Washington, D.C. office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the largest, most high-profile, and complex renewable energy project finance transactions in the world.
The firm's Energy Advisory group represents sponsors, developers, investors, and lenders across a wide range of clean energy and energy transition projects. Ideal candidates will have robust experience in renewable energy finance and a desire to work on impactful, cutting-edge transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Represent clients in project finance transactions related to renewable power and energy transition
•Draft and negotiate complex deal documents, including:
o Purchase and sale agreements
o Investment agreements (including tax equity structures)
o Financing agreements
o Joint venture agreements
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and close large-scale transactions under tight deadlines
Job Requirements:
•3-5 years of experience in project finance involving sponsors, investors, developers, or lenders
•Demonstrated focus on renewable energy and energy transition projects
•Proven ability to draft and manage primary transaction documents independently
•Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
•Effective in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
•J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
•Admitted to practice in New York or Washington, D.C.
Compensation:
This position offers Cravath-scale compensation , including industry-leading base salary and bonus structure.
