Responsible for producing quality two-dimensional ultrasound images, Doppler flow analyses of the heart and related structures for physician diagnosis of heart disease. Actively participate in the operation and maintenance of echo equipment, following standards set by ICAEL, HFAP, and Infection Control. Perform all echo exams according to established protocols. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Check for previous studies and review key elements. Optimize instrument settings before starting the study. Verify the indication for the exam, review the order, and understand the physician's request. Review the order for the type of study, verify patient identity using two identifiers with the paper requisition. Enter patient information into the ultrasound system, including demographics, height, weight, BP, sonographer's name, and other relevant data. Utilize AIDET principles to acknowledge, introduce, explain, and thank the patient throughout the procedure. Perform various adult echo procedures to obtain and record 2D, pulsed Doppler, M-mode, color flow, and spectral graphics to assist in diagnosis. Understand and utilize contrast to enhance imaging, adjusting settings such as scale, gain, filter, compress, and reject with CW & PW Doppler. Identify life-threatening abnormalities and report concerns to the reading physician following department policy. Provide additional imaging as needed to aid in diagnosis. Maintain current echo policies, document examinations accurately, transfer studies to PACS, charge exams correctly, and QC reports for review. Charge for exams using Meditech with correct patient info and accession numbers. Obtain accurate medical histories and review prior reports or studies for the cardiologist. Ensure equipment, including transducers, is cleaned and sterilized according to infection control policies. Adhere to hospital attendance standards and dress code. Collaborate effectively with physicians, peers, and patients, assisting with issues as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Licensure Requirements:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - required Compliance with PPD testing - required Current CPR certification - required Experience:

One-year experience as an Echocardiography technologist - preferred Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program with clinical sites - minimum
