We are seeking a General Surgeon (MD) for call-only locum tenens coverage due to departmental restructuring. This role is inpatient only, and does not require outpatient clinic, rounding, or admissions. The physician will provide general surgery support for adult and pediatric patients.
Beeper call coverage for inpatient surgical needs
Provide surgical care across general, trauma, laparoscopic, and select vascular procedures
Respond to 3 5 phone consults and 2 3 admissions per 24-hour period
5 10 patients seen daily with 30% callback rate
Maintain timely response to consults within 30 minutes
Use MediTech EMR system for documentationBoard Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
Active West Virginia medical license required (no IMLC)
ABLS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
Fellowship preferred
Clean background strongly preferredBread & Butter General Surgery
Laparoscopic Surgery
Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty
GI Endoscopy (Upper and Lower, Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy)
Basic Trauma Surgery
Chest tube and central line insertion
Select pediatric and vascular procedures
