IT Systems Analyst - Job Description Scout Energy is a private energy investment firm that acquires, operates, and improves upstream conventional oil and gas and associated midstream properties for institutional investors. Scout's business involves managing private energy funds and operating the oil and gas assets it owns. The current employee base is approximately 1200, with 200 employees based in Dallas (headquarters). This position reports to Scout's IT Operations Manager within the Information Technology department. Duties & Responsibilities Review current IT systems, including network, software, and hardware, for errors or issues. Maintain essential IT infrastructure such as operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, and hardware. Monitor cloud and on-premise resources to verify integrity and availability. Collaborate with employees and department heads to determine necessary system requirements for efficiency. Troubleshoot operational issues, escalate as needed, and provide solutions. Perform upgrades and patching of servers, systems, and applications. Work on SQL databases by writing T-SQL code to create reports, data extracts, and visualizations. Build automation solutions using technologies like PowerShell, Python, SSIS, etc. Design and document systems following standardized formats. Train employees on new systems through programs and documentation. Skills & Specifications Strong knowledge of security best practices for Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies, including Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access Policies, and third-party SSO. Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policies, Certificate Services, IIS, etc. Experience or familiarity with relational and dimensional data modeling, database performance, development, and maintenance. Experience deploying Azure resources and other cloud services like Office 365, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, Power BI. Understanding of security concepts related to operating systems and applications. Knowledge of data modeling and visualization tools. Experience with databases like Microsoft SQL Server and related tools. Experience with security and authentication technologies such as SSO, MFA, EDR, SIEM. Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting tools. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, IT infrastructure, and support. Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable. Proven experience managing and deploying IT systems and infrastructure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
