How you'll contribute
- Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age.
- Notify appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
- Prepare patients for meals; serve and remove food trays and assist with meals or feed patients if necessary.
- Answer patient call lights, anticipate patient's needs and make rounds to assigned patients.
- Assist patients with the handling of personal property: dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc.
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Transport patients to and from various departments in the hospital.
- Report and, when appropriate, record any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents.
- Assist in the preparation of admissions, transfers and discharge of patients.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures.
- Provide general nursing care: position patients, lift and turn patients, utilize special equipment, assist patients with the bedpan, commode; assist ambulating patients.
- Obtain and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, intake and output.
- Make rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition.
- Consult other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.

Qualifications
Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant
CPR/BCLS Certification
Minimum six months related experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
