Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or formal education equivalent
- Current BLS
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability
Additional Information:
Job Requirements:
- The MA prepares treatment rooms for consultation visits and examinations.
- The MA assists with medical procedures and examinations.
- The MA conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and phlebotomy.
- The MA audits charts and researches & transcribes physicians' orders/accession orders for clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center.
- The MA performs administrative tasks by charting, registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc. using the various registration and scheduling systems.
- The MA coordinates and organizes referrals to the PRI Procedure area.
- The MA performs screenings for calls for SAINT TMS.
- The MA completes screening packets and prior authorizations, as required by insurance.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
