nDay to Day
nThis individual will be responsible for both patient care and administrative duties at Illinois Cancer Specialists in Elgin , IL. They will be in charge of directing patients to exam rooms, checking them in, making sure their records are on file and up to date, be aware of what treatments the patient has that day and has had in the past, drawing blood, disinfecting exam rooms, answering patient questions and phone calls, taking notes, etc.
nResponsibilities:
nEscort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
nProvide collaborative nursing support.
nMaintain efficient patient flow.
nAssists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
nAdminister appropriate injections.
nTake vitals.
nAnswers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
nPhones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
nOther duties as requested or assigned.

nHigh School diploma or GED
n2 years of experience Plusses
nExperience in an oncology setting required
nExperience with ordering tumor and genetic testing
nCertified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
nPhlebotomy skills highly desired null
