We are hiring! We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Transmission Lines in Orlando and Tampa, FL. Our client is a highly innovative surveying and engineering company with over 60 years of industry experience serving clients throughout the US and Caribbean.
nAbout the Role:
As a Senior Engineer, you will provide senior-level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems.
Specifically, the position manages, prepares, reviews and/or provides guidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination and construction support.

- Develop and approve PLS-CADD Criteria n
- Finalize PLS-CADD models n
- Schedule project tasks for project support team n
- Attend client stakeholder meetings n
- Complete design review meetings with the client n
- Mentor/train other engineering team members n
- Provide input on special design questions n
- Attend internal design review meetings n
Qualifications:
n- n
- Bachelor's in Engineering (required) n
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification (required) n
- 8+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required) n
- Experience in using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines (required) n
- Strong experience with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI n
- Strong experience with liaising substation, environmental, right-of-way construction and maintenance stakeholders n
- Demonstrated ability in the application of engineering theories and principles n
- Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing, and presenting recommendations n
- Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations n
- Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline driven work environment n
- Strong ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry n
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) n
- Demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills n
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy. n
