Job Description:
The University of Michigan is seeking a qualified Certified Medical Assistant to join its healthcare team in Ann Arbor. This is an on-site position offering a dynamic work environment where you will provide support to medical staff and help ensure the smooth operation of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient care
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure necessary medical equipment is available
- Take and record patient vital signs and medical history
- Update patient records in MyChart and other medical systems (training available if needed)
- Schedule appointments and follow up with patients as required
- Assist with minor medical procedures
- Provide patients with instructions for care after procedures or appointments
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines
- State-certified Medical Assistant (required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Medical background helpful, but not required
- Familiarity with MyChart is a plus (training will be provided)
- Fluent in computer usage and electronic medical records
- Must reside within a 30-minute commute of Ann Arbor
- Clean criminal history (no felonies, minimal misdemeanors)
- Must pass a 10+2 panel drug screen (same as University Hospital)
