nPerforms receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions.
nReports to: Patient Access Supervisor
nEnsures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. Drag Edit Delete
nDistributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members. Drag Edit Delete
nMeets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions. Drag Edit Delete
nCommunicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement. Drag Edit Delete
nMaintains current knowledge of all rules and regulations governing third party admissions/registrations and pre-certification requirements Drag Edit Delete
nVerifies insurance eligibility and creates estimates based on services rendered, including co-pays, deductibles and out-of-pocket amounts. Drag Edit Delete
nVerifies precertification/authorization on file matches test/procedure/services being performed. Drag Edit Delete
nMaintains an acceptable registration error ratio & collection goal.
