Job Description

n

As an Electrical Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing electrical systems that support large-scale industrial mining operations. Your expertise will directly impact production efficiency and safety standards while working in a dynamic environment that values technical excellence and continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, AC/DC drives, overhead cranes, and process control equipment.

You will collaborate closely with maintenance teams, operations personnel, and engineering staff to ensure optimal equipment performance. Duties and Responsibilities

    n
  • Remove, repair, and install electrical components and systems in industrial mining environment
  • n
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and systems/process optimization of electrical equipment
  • n
  • Complete routine and non-routine electrical repairs and construction projects safely
  • n
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on substations, power distribution systems, and switchgear
  • n
  • Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, and management control systems
  • n
  • Calibrate field transmitters, transducers, and weigh scales according to specifications
  • n
  • Service low and medium voltage equipment following safety protocols
  • n
  • Perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards
  • n
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities
  • n
  • Mentor and train other electrical workers as needed
  • n
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, prints, and schematics for troubleshooting
  • n
  • Use plant and equipment correctly at all times maintaining safety standards
  • n

Required Experience/Skills

n
    n
  • Completion of approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program, OR minimum four years industrial electrical/instrumentation repair and maintenance experience, OR Associate's degree/Trade School Certification with two years relevant experience
  • n
  • Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
  • n
  • Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics
  • n
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • n
  • Must possess minimum personal tools as described by department tool list or obtain within 90 days
  • n
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge and skills
  • n
  • Must pass written assessment based on skills, abilities, academic knowledge, and safety
  • n
  • Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
  • n
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and safety protocols
  • n

  • Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems
