Overview
GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Developer to support the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS) in Columbus, Ohio. This is a fully on-site position at 30 E. Broad Street and requires candidates to be located within commuting distance. The role focuses on modernizing a custom .NET/C# Human Resources application hosted on Azure and offers the opportunity to work closely with HR professionals in a collaborative state agency environment.
Position Overview
As a Senior Developer you will be responsible for refactoring and enhancing a custom HR software suite built in .NET/C# and hosted on Azure. You will collaborate with HR stakeholders and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. This role emphasizes both technical expertise and the ability to understand and support HR-related business processes.
Responsibilities
Refactor and modernize a legacy custom .NET/C# HR application hosted in Azure. Collaborate with HR staff to gather requirements and align software functionality with business needs. Design and document application architecture in coordination with IT Architecture staff and managers. Write, review, and maintain application code following department standards. Deploy code using Azure Pipelines and manage Azure App Services and Functions. Develop and execute test plans, unit tests, and system tests, including debugging and defect resolution. Support user acceptance testing and oversee production deployment tasks. Work with Azure Blob Storage and related services as needed. Participate in on-site meetings and collaborate directly with state agency teams. Minimum Qualifications
4 years of experience with Visual Studio. 4 years of experience with SQL Server. 4 years of experience with ASP.NET MVC 5 and MVC Core. 4 years of experience with Entity Framework 6.2 and Entity Framework Core. 4 years of experience with Kendo UI Controls for ASP.NET MVC. 4 years of experience with JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS 3.0. 2+ years of experience with Azure App Services. Experience with Azure Blob Storage. Experience with Azure Functions and deployment via Azure Pipelines. Must be available to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio. Preferred Experience
Prior experience with HR applications or HR business processes. Familiarity with the State of Ohio's ERP system (OAKS). Strong communication skills for working directly with non-technical HR stakeholders. Experience supporting or working within Ohio state agencies. What We Do:
