Lead Applications Engineer-Flexible Packaging

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with Business Development and Product Development to meet the technical needs for markets within flexible packaging industry. Connect with external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, research institutes) to support development initiatives. Putting forth and testing ideas that support proliferation of breakthrough technologies. Be the recognized expert in industry trade associations, develops new to the world data/white papers to promote the company's expertise externally. Establish and leverage external networks and partnerships (research/suppliers/OEM/boards/industry). Develop and manage key innovation/application projects. Understand the latest flexible packaging technologies. Assist running pilot scale lamination and coating equipment to validate new innovative ideas and scale up to customer sites. Testing and market introductions of new products and new technologies. BACKGROUND PROFILE:
10 plus years of flexible packaging industry experience either in application engineering or product development. Extensive knowledge and experience within the flexible packaging from formulation to application of adhesive and coatings Application methods/development. 30-50% travel requirement. Ability to create clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation, manuals, and process guides for technical and non-technical audiences. Proficient in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data-driven reports to support decision-making and performance tracking. Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams. Business Acumen/Partnership. Analytical thinking. Lean/six sigma/scientific method.
