Veterinary Medicine Library Supervisor

Under direction of the head librarian of the Veterinary Medicine Library, the Veterinary Medicine Library Supervisor provides daily management and operation of the library. Hires, schedules, trains and supervises up to 12 student employees with the intent to make their employment educationally purposeful. Ensures continuous coverage and maintains library services in absence of the librarian. Oversees circulation services and serves as liaison for IT, facilities and equipment issues. Assists with selection and collection management projects and coordinates acquisition of library materials and supplies. Provides general reference services and user training. Assists in the promotion and implementation of library services to users in the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position is dedicated to advancing the culture of University Libraries and the work of the Research and Education unit. All other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent certificate. At least four years of experience in a library or other frontline customer focused environment. At least one year of supervisory experience. Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Excel proficiencies. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to work under deadlines and with interruptions. Must be able to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am

6pm. Desired: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 1-year customer service setting experience. Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. Experience using Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Experience using Alma/Primo or other library service platform.
