Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model Understanding of technical environments in order to create and document processes and procedures Demonstrated well-developed organizational, written communication, and analytical skills Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks without direct supervision Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative, executive staff, and clinical systems users Job Responsibilities

Establishes networking environment by installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment and systems in accordance with defined standards or best practices. Maximizes network performance and availability by monitoring resource utilization, trending, and capacity. Collaborates with network and domain architects on network optimization. Troubleshoots network problems and outages; schedules and implements patches, upgrades, hot fixes, and security configurations. Secures network system by enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access. Serves as liaison with user departments and vendors to communicate, evaluate, and implement new network technologies and systems. Manages and maintains network documentation, equipment inventories, and MDF/IDF standards. Participates in daily and out-of-hours on-call support for network operating needs. Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architect(s) and senior network engineer(s) on network optimization. Reports/monitors network operational status, performance availability, resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Configures and installs various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, WLAN, etc.) Provides Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
