About The Role:
Intelliguard has an excellent opportunity for a QA Automation Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA reporting to Director of Quality Assurance. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our embedded and enterprise systems. You will play a dual role in manually testing software that integrates with hardware devices and automating existing test cases to enhance efficiency and reliability. Supporting critical functions in healthcare environments, this is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who learns quickly and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
Write and execute manual test cases for embedded and enterprise software solutions. Perform black-box and exploratory testing to validate the functionality and reliability of software-hardware integration. Automate existing manual test cases using appropriate tools and frameworks. Maintain and improve existing automation scripts to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness. Perform regression testing after code changes to ensure no new defects are introduced. Investigate, document, and report defects in Jira with detailed reproduction steps. Work closely with development teams to resolve issues, verify fixes, and ensure all defects are addressed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and acceptance criteria. Identify gaps in testing coverage and propose improvements to processes, methodologies, and automation strategies. Perform other duties as assigned. We Would Love To Hear From You, If:
3+ years of proven experience in software testing and test automation. Bachelor's degree in technology, science, healthcare, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience in software testing may be considered in place of formal education. Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, or similar. Basic understanding of test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar. Strong proficiency in writing clear and concise test cases. Experience using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Azure, or similar). Familiarity with testing against acceptance criteria and ability to think creatively to find edge cases. Exceptional analytical and communication skills. Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the medical device industry or knowledge of IEC 62304 regulatory standards. Familiarity with testing software integrated with hardware devices or embedded systems. Understanding of testing methodologies and working in an Agile environment. Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr, and IDEs like Visual Studio. Knowledge of version control systems such as Git. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
